The proud alumni of Sainik School Nagrota gathered onceagain for their annual ex-students meet on Sunday December 17th , 2023,creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with nostalgia and camaraderie. The eventwitnessed an impressive turnout, with a multitude of alumni, along with theirfamilies and children, making it a memorable occasion.
The distinguished attendees included senior officers fromthe defense forces, members of the civil services, and accomplishedentrepreneurs, reflecting the diverse and impactful paths that the alumni havetaken since their time at Sainik School Nagrota.
Brigadier Dr Vijay Sagar Dheman (School No 214) visited theInformation Technology and Atal Tinkering Laboratories of the school and whileacknowledging the young innovators, the dignitary announced a cash prize of Rs25000/- on the spot for young cadet innovators.
Highlighting the success and contributions of the alumni,the event served as a platform to introduce the newly elected office bearers ofthe Nagrota Ex-students Association (NEXAS). Brigadier Gurmeet Singh Shan(School No 355), a respected figure with a commendable track record, waselected as the new President of NEXAS. Brigadier Gurmeet Singh Shan ispresently working on the appointment as Director Sainik Welfare, J&K.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Brig Gurmeet SinghShan expressed his gratitude for the honor and outlined his vision for thefuture of NEXAS. Acknowledging the immense contribution made by Mr RandheerSiingh Biloria, Ex-President, he emphasized on the importance of unity andcollaboration among the alumni to continue the legacy of Sainik School Nagrota.The newly appointed office bearers were introduced amidst applause and cheersfrom the audience. Mr. Hardeep Singh was welcomed as the Vice President, Mr.Sanjay Jena assumed the role of General Secretary, and Mr. Puneet Gupta tookcharge as the Treasurer. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences promise adynamic leadership that will guide NEXAS to new heights.
Celebrating 25 years since passing out from the School, the1991-98 batch of cadets gathered on the stage to mark the Silver Jubilee GetTogether. To commemorate this historic occasion, the batch presented cashhampers to the General Employees and announced cash prizes to meritoriouscadets for seven succeeding years. In addition, they also announced thedevelopment of a mobile app to facilitate ease of contacting any Nagrotian intimes of need. Further, the batch inaugurated a Memorabilia Wall with theSchool Logo Chinar as a permanent landmark attraction in the School. Theprogram was followed by a sumptuous lunch in the Cadets’ Mess.
The ex-students left the venue with cherished memories,strengthened bonds, and a renewed commitment to contributing positively tosociety.
